The house extension featured on this page shows the completed building works which include a complete makeover and modernisation throughout. Work began on 4th February 2013 on this four bedroom family home in Cheapside Berkshire. We built a two story side extension to the left, full depth of the property. And a single story extension to the rear of the property. The side extension creates larger bedrooms upstairs with built-in storage and a new ensuite bathroom plus a family bathroom. A new staircase connects the rooms. Downstairs: There is a study, utility room and cloak room off the entrance hall. The house extension to the rear of the property creates a large light, modern open kitchen / diner area and family snug, with aluminium bi-fold doors out to back garden. The ground floor extension has a flat roof with built-in skylights. Internal house modifications and alterations. The house has been re-wired and plumbed with under floor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. Hot water is powered by an eco-friendly solar gas filled system mounted on the wall outside. The system works the opposite way to a fridge. An archway connecting the living room and dinning room has been blocked up creating separate lounge and dinning room. A fireplace is installed in the lounge where the archway used to be. The whole house is re-plastered and decorated throughout and new flooring and carpets laid. External modernisation and house alterations. On the outside there is a new porch and front door, double glazed windows, guttering, facia boards and soffits. In the back garden we built a patio area with a raised bank lawn garden. This web page is under construction ! We should have details and photos of the finished job by the end of May 2013.
