Work started work at the end of May 2013, building this Loft conversion in South Ascot, near Sunninghill Berkshire. The loft space conversion was completed at the beginning of June. The client elected to do the painting and decorating themselves, to save money.

The loft conversion provides an additional two bedrooms and a Shower wet room to this Victorian three bedroom detached house in Berkshire.

We started work by stripping the roof and installing all the necessary structural alterations. Then we built an extended dormer window with a flat roof to the rear of the loft space. We retiled the existing roof whilst installing Velux windows to the front.

In the loft space, all the floor joists have been strengthened or replaced. The plumbing installed for the wet room and a hot water tank inside a built in airing cupboard off the corridor. Dry lined partition walls are built to create the two new bedrooms and a shower / wet room. A solid wood staircase, with balustrade and hand rail, connects the loft area, via a corridor to all the new rooms.

All electrical wiring is installed by an independent qualified Part P electrician, tested and certificated.

The existing brick walls and new stud walls in the loft rooms are prepared for plaster boarding and plastered.

The loft conversion building schedule is just 5-6 weeks !

The building work was completed at the beginning of July 2013 and the client is very happy with the work. They now have an extra two bedrooms and shower / wet room in the loft space and decided to utilise some of the first floor space to create a much bigger family bathroom.
